Nitto Denko (Australia) Pty. Ltd. is pleased to announce that it has become the sponsor of the “2019 Knox Sport and Leisure Awards” held by the local city of Knox. This event recognizes volunteers who are dedicated to their work with sports and leisure clubs in the city. Sponsorship of the event came about from Nitto’s PVC tape being used for many years as a sign of mourning during matches and other events.

Korea Nitto Optical Co., Ltd. continues to support people termed the socially vulnerable. In September 2018, employees visited the Pyeongtaek City Nursing Home and Ebada Facility for the Disabled. In addition to cleaning and repairing the facilities as well as helping with meals, they also donated COLOCOLO^™ cleaning tools.

On January 31, 2019, all employees from Korea Nitto Denko Co., Ltd. and Nitto Denko Nitoms Korea Co., Ltd. volunteered to deliver coal briquettes to families facing economic hardship. The donation of briquettes has continued each year since 2015 and this was the fifth time. The narrow roads crammed with aging houses and a terrain full of steep slopes makes it difficult for vehicles to transport the coal briquettes. Employees delivered 2,000 briquettes by carrying them on their backs.

On December 15, 2018, Nitto Denko (Taiwan) Corp. and Taiwan Nitto Optical Co., Ltd. participated in a charity marathon held at Dajia Riverside Park in Taipei. The event was held by the Advanced Developers Association and a total of 452 people from both companies ran the 5 km and 12 km courses, donating to children’s daycare centers through the event.

A total of 20 employees from Nitto Denko (HK) Co., Ltd. participated in the “TWGHs* Halloween Charity Run” held at Hong Kong Disneyland on November 3, 2018 and ran a 3 km course. Proceeds from donations and participation fees were donated to the TWGHs Ho Yuk Ching Educational Psychology Service Centre, to support children with autism, learning disabilities, and developmental disorders.

*Tung Wah Group of Hospitals (TWGHs) is one of Hong Kong’s largest charitable organizations, providing social welfare and educational services in addition to medical care.

Nitto Bento Bantcilik San. ve Tic. A.S. presented school supplies such as books, pens, pencils, as well as other celebratory gifts to an elementary school in the eastern part of Turkey on April 23, “National Sovereignty and Children's Day,” a national holiday.

Nitto Denko (Philippines) Corp. has continued to support children’s education over many years. The number of schools to which support was provided during the Brigada Eskwela (School Brigade)* at the end of May 2018 was expanded to three schools, and items such as desks, school supplies, and trash cans, which were formerly used in the office, were donated.

*A week for school maintenance that takes place before the start of a new semester, led by the Philippine Department of Education. Parents, local residents, and businesses participate as volunteers.

On June 30, 2019, Nitto Matex (Thailand) Co., Ltd. visited an elementary school in northeastern Thailand and presented the school with a donation of funds raised by employees to help repair the facilities. Educational support is often insufficient in rural areas and so everyone at the school was delighted.
