Nitto’s Toyohashi Plant is a constant supporter of experiment workshops for children, providing polarizing films and demonstration equipment and occasionally sending volunteers from among its current and retired employees.
In 2016, they extended cooperation to the “Omoshiro (Interesting) Science” and “Yumetamago (Dream Egg) Science Lecture” events, which were held at the Toyohashi Audio-Visual Education Center on August 28 and September 24, respectively, and the “Kosai Invention Club for Schoolchildren” event that took place on December 10 under the sponsorship of Shizuoka Prefecture’s Kosai City Board of Education. Children were surprised by the wonders of polarizing films and worked diligently to make crafts out of the versatile material.
The Toyohashi Plant has been supporting the “Toyohashi Invention Club for Schoolchildren” since its foundation ten years ago, for which the Toyohashi City Government presented a letter of appreciation on February 9, 2017.
On July 20, 2016, the Toyohashi Plant hosted a group of 22 top managers and executives of manufacturing businesses from eight countries, including Thailand, India, and Egypt, as a part of a training program organized by the Overseas Human Resources and Industry Development Association (HIDA)*. This visit became a reality at the request of the organizer, who wanted the trainees to learn from practical examples of material flow cost accounting (MFCA), and Nitto was singled out for the honor since it was among the first to introduce MFCA.
Following an introduction to Nitto’s environmental management, the trainees deepened their understanding of MFCA as they watched it in practice there.

Nitto Denko (China) Investment Co., Ltd. (NC) supports Total Football Asia (TFA), an organization geared toward promoting soccer in Asia. NC donated soccer balls on September 27, 2016 in support of TFA’s initiative to “deliver soccer balls to children in Asia,” and on another occasion provided ping-pong tables, basketballs, and volleyballs to Fengyi Town Elementary School in Mao County, Sichuan Province. Attended by children of the Qiang ethnic minority group, who represent one of China’s ethnic minorities, the school had been reconstructed after the 2008 Sichuan earthquake, but still lacked physical education equipment. These special gifts were purchased using the funds raised by members of the Nitto Group in China, which were matched by NC.
After the presentation ceremony, attending members of the TFA gave a soccer workshop, where children enjoyed playing soccer with the brand new balls.
