Label error occurs. How should I take care of this?

Please check the following items in their order when a label error occurs.

  1. Measure the label length (threshold adjustment).
  2. Check the label size.
  3. Clean the printer’s sensors.

Measure the label length (threshold adjustment).

Length measurement (threshold adjustment) is to measure the amount of light transmitted through the label using the sensor and storing this information on the printer. When the label is used for the first time, and each time the label is changed, the label must be measured. (*1)

Measuring the label length (threshold adjustment)

  1. Put the label roll (*1) on the label sensor with the label directly below the label sensor.
  2. Make sure the printer is online, lock the arm unit, and turn the printer on.
  3. Press the [FEED] button while holding down the [ONLINE] button and release them simultaneously.
  4. Press the [FEED] button.
  5. Press the [ONLINE] button.
  6. Press the [FEED] button to feed about 3 labels, and confirm that the label stops each time it is fed.

(*1 Labels with a silver surface may not be measured correctly. If this is the case, make measurements with white-surfaced labels such as DURATACK PT501K.)

Check the label

If the label pitch (P) satisfies the following equation, label error or skipping may occur.

Clean the printer’s sensors.

Apply a isopropyl alcohol to a cloth and run it through the label sensor to clean.
