We are reducing plastic waste by reusing packaging straps from raw material purchases. By eliminating the purchase of straps, we have achieved an annual reduction of 506 kg of plastic waste.
We are working on reducing plastic packaging materials used in the production process. There are two types of plastic packaging materials: for process use and for shipping. For process-use plastics, we reviewed the number of uses, implemented reuse practices, and reduced disposal losses. For shipping plastics, we optimized packaging utilization rates and switched cushioning materials from plastic to paper. These activities have resulted in an annual reduction of 376 tons of plastic packaging materials.
We are working on reducing the amount of ferric chloride solution used in the etching process. By reviewing the solution replenishment rate, reusing the solution, and extending its lifespan, we are able to reduce the annual use of ferric chloride by 258 tons.
We are tackling the reduction of adhesive waste liquid that had become difficult to recycle internally. By reviewing the storage method of waste liquid and changing the production equipment specifications and work procedures, we can reduce about 95% of the waste liquid that was previously outsourced for collection and treatment.
We have reduced the amount of waste liquid outsourced for collection by improving the efficiency of in-house treatment methods for waste liquid generated in the production process. This initiative has resulted in a reduction of approximately 4.2 tons of waste liquid per month.
