Making Singapore Cleaner
In Singapore, National Environment Agency pursues environmental policies, such as its “Keep Singapore Clean Movement”. On December 14, 2013, staff of Nitto Denko Singapore participated in picking up litter at Telok Blangah Hill Park. The park has been a gathering place since the early 19th century and is a scenic spot with a panoramic view of Singapore.
 
This was the staff’s first experience of picking up litter. Despite being known as a clean & green country, there was litter hidden in the bushes and in drains. Participants reaped an unwanted ‘harvest.’

Recycling of Copy Paper in Ibaraki Plant

Since 2013, the Ibaraki Plant has been engaged in a new approach to environmental conservation. Previously, waste copy paper was shredded then handed over to an outside recycle service to be recycled into toilet paper. However, we have begun to process waste copy paper into recycled copy paper within the plant.
 
We hope doing so will not only reduce the impact on the environment but also lead to the prevention of leakage of confidential information.

Children's Forest Program

The Nagoya Plant supports the Children's Forest Program of OISCA Public Interest Foundation, by collecting bell marks. The Children's Forest Program is a program that aims to plant trees in a reforestation program and promote children's love of nature and encouraging them to treasure flora in their own hands-on activities.
 
2,232 bell marks collected from April 2013 to March 2014 will be used to plant 22 trees, following on from the 53 trees planted last year.
 
Bell mark movement: By collecting bell marks, we can provide educational materials and school equipment to children at home and abroad in response to the number of points. Cooperating companies place a mark on their products and sponsor funds in accordance with the number of points.

Cooperating with Computer Recycling Programme of Environmental Protection Department

Nitto Denko HK cooperates with the Computer Recycling Programme, an initiative of Environmental Protection Department. On May 23, 2013, Nitto Denko HK donated superfluous personal computers and projectors to Caritas-HK Computer Workshop. These will be donated to the disadvantaged or taken down to parts to be recycled.
