In Singapore, National Environment Agency pursues environmental policies, such as its “Keep Singapore Clean Movement”. On December 14, 2013, staff of Nitto Denko Singapore participated in picking up litter at Telok Blangah Hill Park. The park has been a gathering place since the early 19th century and is a scenic spot with a panoramic view of Singapore. This was the staff’s first experience of picking up litter. Despite being known as a clean & green country, there was litter hidden in the bushes and in drains. Participants reaped an unwanted ‘harvest.’ |
Since 2013, the Ibaraki Plant has been engaged in a new approach to environmental conservation. Previously, waste copy paper was shredded then handed over to an outside recycle service to be recycled into toilet paper. However, we have begun to process waste copy paper into recycled copy paper within the plant. We hope doing so will not only reduce the impact on the environment but also lead to the prevention of leakage of confidential information. |
