In conjunction with COP29, which will bring together leaders of governments, municipalities, NGOs and companies from around the world, the Ministry of the Environment will set up the “Japan Pavilion” as a venue to showcase Japan's outstanding technologies and initiatives to tackle climate change. Nitto was selected as one of the companies at the onsite exhibition of the pavilion and would exhibit with the theme of “Practical application of technologies for CO2 capture, conversion and utilization from once-through boilers used in manufacturing.” This is the first time for Nitto to showcase at the onsite exhibition.
The Nitto Group declared the Nitto Group Carbon Neutral 2050 in May, 2022. It was made clear that the Nitto Group would not only reduce its own CO2 emissions but also help its customers reduce their CO2 emissions through its products and solutions. The Nitto Group aims to reduce CO2 emissions by recovering CO2 emitted from factories using separation membranes and storing, fixing or converting it into valuable substances. It also aims to achieve negative emissions by working on developing technology to capture CO2 from the atmosphere. All of them are unique technologies that incorporate the know-how that have been accumulated over many years. The Nitto Group will propose a total solution to reduce CO2 emissions by combining these multiple technologies and embody a unique concept of Nitto’s ESG management: seeking solutions to social issues and creating economic values simultaneously.
